Mother Daughter Book Club

Last winter my daughter and I started our own morning time mother daughter book club. We thought that it would be a great way to spend some quality time together since we are the only girls in the house. Since we both love literature, it seems natural that we would spend our time together reading and connect over something we both truly enjoy.

Now, when I say book club, I use the word loosely. We would get up at 6:00am, make some tea, grab a few breakfast cookies or biscotti and place it on our tray. Then we'd snuggle up and take turns reading until 6:30am. We read (the abridged versions) of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte last year.

When spring rolled around my daughter told me she didn't want to continue our morning book club which slightly stung, but I thought it was fun while it lasted.

Here we are in mid-November and my daughter asked me when we were going to start our mother daughter morning book club again!

Since last year we, unfortunately, broke out pink teapot and white teacup and the wood tray had something happen to it and it was tossed. While this year's mother daughter morning book club may not look exactly like it did last year, I'm excited to see what this season brings us in the way of bonding over great literature!
