Well, hello there!

Hello and welcome, I am so glad you are here!

I'm just a mom to four very busy kids between the ages of preschool and high school. I homeschool these wild children of mine, help my husband run his wood carving business, and work, all while living off-grid in a tiny house that my husband built. Almost four months ago we left the comfort of our long-time home in Northern California for the harsh high desert of Nevada.

This blog is meant to capture our adventures as we spend our first winter and beyond in our new home and transform this bare land into a high desert homestead. When we moved here almost four months ago, the land was bought was just that- land. It was powered dirt and lots of sagebrush, but besides that nothing else. We purchased our property sight unseen, and not just the land was unseen by us, but the town and basically the state as well. Talk about an adventure! In almost four months we have built a deck, brought home our steer, and 27 baby chicks!  We have so much more to get done before winter; however, fall is already here, and winter is just a few months away!
