Favorite Spots for Books
I am a firm believer that you can never had enough books. Books can take the reader to far off lands, hidden worlds, or back in time. I love literature and I want my children to love it too. I tell my kids that if they can read, they can learn anything they want!
Reading was once thought of as a luxury but these days many people, sadly, think of reading as little more than a chore. That breaks my heart a little.
While the town I live in doesn't have an independent bookstore (heart continues to break a little more) it does have a beautiful gift shop with plenty of new books that are great for gifts.
We have three local thrift stores we often frequent, especially on their 10 books for $1 sale days! We have an amazing library that hosts so many events for adults and children each week and they have the best library staff anyone could ask for.
And we also have 10, that's right, TEN darling Little Libraries that I absolutely adore, all within 20 miles of us. Just look at these books I found the other day at two of our local Little Libraries...
I was so excited to find a few books I had been looking for Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte is our November read and A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is our December read and finding them at a Little Library seriously made my day! More than my day, my entire month!
If you are looking for a copy of either Jane Eyre or A Christmas Carol but you can't find them at a Little Library or a local thrift store, you can purchase them by clicking on the links above.
Do you know the best part of a Little Library? They cost you nothing for the books you find. Leave a book you've read and take one you'd like to read. Little libraries are a book lovers dream.
If you want to see if you have any little libraries near you, check out this site:
Note: I've provided links to some of the items mentioned in this post and these are things, (or similar items) that I have used and enjoyed. If you choose to purchase these items from Amazon, that's great, but just know that I do not expect you do. I buy most of my items second-hand and I hope you can do the same. I've included links to certain items so you can gather more information about the products I'm referring to or you may purchase them new if you wish. Rest assured; I do not earn any commission from your purchases on Amazon for the items I've provided links to.
