The Warmth of Wood
When the chilly mornings of fall roll in, there really isn't anything quite like the warmth of a wood fire. Starting up the wood stove chases away the crispness of the morning unlike a space heater or propane heater or any other heater I've had in the past. It could be the ambiance that comes with the flames flickering and shedding their light, or maybe it's the crackling of the wood or the comforting ticking of the stove itself. Whatever the case, there is nothing quite like it. Since my husband is a wood carver, as you may imagine, we have a surplus of wood. Burning his scrap wood has its benefits, not only does it keep us warm at no additional cost, but it helps to keep his scrap pile from taking over the homestead.
